Scope of Practice
Based on our mission, vision and values, we aim to further clarify
what we do (and don’t do) in our scope of practice.

What we believe:
-
God made all people wonderful, regardless of our race, ethnicity, gender, bodies or socio-economic statuses.
-
Healing is a journey.
-
Our worthiness and value come simply from being human.
-
We need to listen to our bodies, created to help us survive and thrive. They hold the experiences of pain and love.
-
We need one another to heal, grow and be our best as humans. We benefit from one another’s experiences, knowledge, and gifts.

Who we are:
-
Sensitive and aware of individual faith and cultural backgrounds and systems
-
Safe, inclusive and non-judgmental to all.
-
Faith aligned as followers of Jesus.
-
Faith sensitive in how we walk with others regardless of background.
-
A group of diverse professionals who strive to hold people lovingly in experience, helping to provide support, space and resources to heal from trauma.
-
Intentional listeners.
-
Bound by law to report knowledge of current abuse or anything that risks the life of a human being.
-
Learners who help each other talk about our own pain and listen to the pain of others.
-
Diverse and Inclusive: The practice of diversity, belonging and inclusion means forming caring relationships with people of all ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, and socio-economic statuses, where we learn from each other. We need one another to grow and be better humans. We believe the beauty of diverse peoples loving each other in community fosters a more beautiful community and life.
-
We welcome LGBTQ2S+ people as full contributing participants in our community, and will intentionally encourage a safe space for healing and growth.
-
We choose to celebrate the beauty of how every person is created in the image of God, equally and highly worthy and valued. This is the basis of how issues of identity will be viewed.
-
We recognize that some people have experienced pain, rejection, and spiritual trauma from various communities, and we desire to be a place of healing and safety to restore and heal emotional wounds.

What we do:
-
Lead and equip healing groups for people who’ve experienced trauma, with a specialized focus in spiritual trauma.
-
Equip leaders with tools and practices to understand trauma, help others in their healing journeys, and establish healthy communities.
-
Provide safe and supportive community.
-
Report current abuse or suicide.
-
Provide resource tools and materials to aid people in understanding trauma and how to walk with those impacted by it.

What we are not:
-
Advocates for any specific religion or denomination.
-
A substitute for professional counseling.
-
Legal advice of any kind.

What we don’t do:
-
Permanent support services for individuals needing ongoing resources and care.
-
Professional counseling, psychiatric or psychological services, though we do use some therapeutic exercises in our processes.
-
Mental health diagnoses.
-
Lecture one another.
